Are you getting good access to physical therapy? Access Physical Therapy has convenient locations throughout Westchester, Rockland, Pike, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan Counties. If you live in the Downstate and Hudson Valley area you have access to great services right in your backyard! Access Physical Therapy & Wellness is a family-owned organization that provides quality physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services in 18 locations in five states, 10 in Orange, Rockland and Westchester counties. Access was founded 11 years ago by physical therapists and brothers Stephen and Christopher Albanese – natives of the nearby Orange County Town of Monroe – and their respective spouses, physical therapists Shannon and Janet Albanese. The company has twice been honored as one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group.
“You won’t find better physical therapists than Mike Saunders and Dr. Tracy Urvater,” said Stephen Albanese.
Mike Saunders, former New York Knicks athletic trainer, founder and owner of Saunders physical therapy and sports performance, has partnered up with Access Physical Therapy to give you the premier care and service you deserve. Before opening his Pomona practice in 2006, Saunders served 27 years as head athletic trainer for the New York Knicks. He specializes in treating outpatient orthopedics including joint replacements, strains, and sprains, and all post-surgical rehab.
“Tracy Urvater and I have been colleagues for quite some time and I feel very comfortable transitioning my practice to her. I’m confident that she will continue to provide the same quality care our clients have come to expect. In fact, our similar culture was the key driver behind our decision to partner with Access,” said Saunders.
Dr. Tracy Urvater has been serving Rockland County patients as a physical therapist for 20 years. She is board-certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist by the American Physical Therapy Association. She treats patients with every type of orthopedic, sports or post-surgical related condition, but she has a special interest in spine, knee and shoulder injuries, as well as in the health of the “overhead athlete” – players of baseball, tennis, volleyball etc. She is a former softball player, youth baseball coach and competitive swimmer. She aims to provide the most current evidence based treatment to return patients to their maximum functional potential.
“We know we are doing well when patients come back to us for all their physical therapy needs – and refer their friends and family to a place they know provides the type of care they are looking for,” Urvater said. At the Pomona location you’ll receive excellent care and our commitment to making you feel better!
Pomona also has two other skilled Physical therapists, Dr. John Kaiteris and Dr. Katherine Eggleson, available to you when you need. At 14 Thiells Mt. Ivy Road, Pomona becomes the 18th office of the Orange County-based, family-owned Access Physical Therapy & Wellness.
"Access Physical Therapy & Wellness lives the vision of Saunders, which makes the fit so appropriate. In fact, our similar culture was the key driver behind our decision to partner with Access Physical Therapy & Wellness. Access Physical Therapy & Wellness shares the same values we do, exceeding patients’ expectations by providing excellent quality care and a hands-on approach." Mike Saunders,PT,ATC
